When trying to automatically start InTouch and your I/O Servers by placing shortcuts in the Windows Startup folder. You may have found that sometimes you have to restart InTouch in order to connect. This is due to the order that Windows starts the services and the applications in the Startup folder. To remedy this situation and to allow the Windows services to start prior to starting any Wonderware product, Wonderware developed the StartIT utility. This utility is available to Comprehensive Support subscribers.

StartIT starts up InTouch applications in a specific order by defining a time delay between each application. StartIT can start up to six applications at a specified interval. The StartIT files can be placed in the Windows Startup folder so that it will launch automatically when Windows is started up.

To insure that the services have the opportunity to start completely, you can place a blank batch file in the first tab of StartIT. The file does not need to contain anything but you should include something describing the files purpose similar to the following:

The delay time in milliseconds can be increased or decreased as needed for best performance. The default is 1000ms. Check the Enable Application checkbox to allow Automatic Start of the application.

You can then place your I/O server in the Application 2 tab...

And WindowViewer in Application tab 3.

Then you just place a shortcut to the StartIT.exe in your Windows Startup folder and the applications will start automatically on boot up.
