Wonderware recently announced the release of the Wonderware Information Server Version 3.0 (formerly SuiteVoyager).  Information Server version 3.0 adds integration with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, support of InTouch SmartSymbols in Table Weaver allowing exciting visual displays of process data, support of Web Part technology for publishing Wonderware content in other web applications and improved performance of InTouch process graphics when using Industrial Application Server.

What the new product delivers:

Supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services

Information Server v3.0 has improved its reporting capabilities by integrating Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services into the web application. The integration takes two primary forms; integration of InSQL and other Wonderware databases with Reporting Services so it is easier to access this data and the use of standard navigation controls for selecting tags, time & date limits and data retrieval modes. Now, sophisticated production reports are much easier to produce using Information Server v3.0.

Integration of Advanced Historian Data Retrieval Modes

Advanced data retrieval modes introduced in IndustrialSQL Server v9.0 have now been integrated into the report configuration features of Information Server v3.0. Users can select the data retrieval mode from a simple dropdown list making report configuration easy. The new data retrieval modes simplify the creation of report queries and also allow much more sophisticated reports to be generated – increasing the value of Information Server.

Rich Visualization via SmartSymbol Integration

SmartSymbols created in InTouch can now be imported into the Information Server v3.0 and used to create highly visual data display screens or KPI dashboards. The reusability of the SmartSymbols lowers the cost and time requirements of creating visual data displays.

Trend and Process Graphic Web Parts Improve Content of SharePoint Implementations

Information Server v3.0 supports Microsoft Web Part technology allowing ActiveFactory trends or InTouch process graphics to be converted into a web part and easily incorporated into a SharePoint site or other web part container application. These web parts are dynamic and are automatically updated with new data from either IndustrialSQL Server or InTouch. This a very powerful way to extend the value of Wonderware content in custom industrial applications.

Improved Performance of Process Graphics

Information Server v3.0 provides greatly improved process graphic display performance. Though highly dependent on window size, usage and other factors, Information Server v3.0 shows performance improvements of 20 to 50% over previous versions. The largest performance gains have come with Industrial Application Server.
