InSQL Version 9.0 Now Available!
Wonderware recently announced the commercial release of their highly popular real-time plant data historian, IndustrialSQL Server Version 9.0. With even more powerful features, Version 9.0 allows all customers to implement a true plant historian to meet their specific company's needs. Additionally, a new Personal Edition has been added to the existing Standard and Enterprise Editions to provide a full range of application scaling options – from the smallest desktop applications to a plant-wide historian.
IndustrialSQL
Server 9.0 is the latest version of one of the most successful
plant data historians on the market today. With over 14,000
licenses sold, IndustrialSQL Server delivers real-time plant
data to thousands of Wonderware users every day. Key Additions & Improvements include: Enhanced Security & Auditing Trails for Regulated Industry Applications Regulated industries rely on audit trials and security systems to protect valuable process data and to allow regulators to view accurate process history. Windows authentication has been added to SQL Server security to allow greater flexibility in implementing the system. Also, modifications to the data and more complete logging of user actions makes version 9.0 the most FDA ready historian Wonderware has ever offered.
New Data Retrieval Modes for Simplified & More Efficient Queries New time-in-state and aggregate data retrieval modes have been added to version 9.0 to simplify data queries (up to 90%) and to allow users to transform data into plant performance information. Now users can obtain how long a piece of equipment has run or how many valve operations occurred during a period time. Also, data can be easily aggregated to determine the total number of products produced over a reporting period. The “Best Fit” retrieval mode can generate an optimum amount of data that best represents a process with the absolute minimum of data values. Queries of this type run faster and the smaller amount of data reduces traffic on the network.
More Efficient Data Storage for Reduced Hardware Costs InSQL Version 9.0 now uses the Invensys Patented “Swinging Door” data storage algorithm to minimize data storage requirements and at the same time preserve an accurate representation of the process. Customers will see up to 70% reductions in data storage requirements helping to reduce the hardware costs of the system.
Improved Communications with Slow & Intermittent Data Networks for Expanded Industry Use We have significantly improved our historian connectivity with slow and intermittent data networks - commonly found in distributed SCADA applications. Communications from the historian server to remote data sources can be fine-tuned to accommodate slower network speeds and to preserve available bandwidth. Now we can offer an even more reliable, high capacity and value priced historian to this important Wonderware market.
InSQL is Now Available in Three Editions for Improved Application Scalability IndustrialSQL Server 9.0 is now available in Personal, Standard and Enterprise Editions. The new Personal Edition has been added to allow use of the product in small applications running on personal operating systems and as an alternative to the InTouch History logger. This complements the Standard Edition, targeted at most typical historian applications, and the Enterprise Edition, targeted at large applications that might need highly reliable dual failover cluster support or just want to use Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2000 Enterprise Edition operating systems and the Enterprise Edition of Microsoft SQL Server.
Improved Integration with Industrial Application Server for More Intuitive Tag Browsing The Industrial Application Server plant model view seen inside the ArchestrA IDE is now available to IndustrialSQL Server 9.0 customers. The entire hierarchical plant model can be viewed in the IndustrialSQL Server console and in the ActiveFactory 9.0 Tag Picker window. This new functionality delivers on the promise to integrate the plant model view into our entire product range.
