2004 - Q-mation Year in Review

2004 was an extremely positive year for Q-mation, its partners and its customers.  Driven by several significant new product offerings, Q-mation experienced significant growth while being able to deliver unparalleled products and services to our clients throughout the Northeast Region.  This Volume's Q-news will focus on re-capping some of the most important events over the past year that have occurred with our company.

Adding new Staff

An important event in any organization is the addition of new staff members to help increase the ability to service customers.  2004 provided Q-mation with just such an opportunity as we were able to augment our existing staff with several new team members geared at providing technical and sales support to our customers.

The Horsham office added several new hires in 2004 in our constant effort to increase productivity and customer support.  Deborah Cook and Dave Vessichelli were added to our inside sales staff to allow us to provide deeper sales support and faster response to our customer's needs while Audrey Wyatt was added to our office staff to help manage customer orders and accounts.  Additionally, Phil Wood was added to our technical group to provide additional technical support and training for our products as well as to help our on site services group assist customers with their various needs.  If you have called in over the past several months for sales, technical support or account support, chances are that you have spoken to one of these individuals.  They are here along with the other team members to help provide premier support services to our customers from throughout our region.

Our Lowell facility added Jarek Kodlubanski (See Q-news Volume 4 December 2004) to provide inside sales support for our Lowell, MA customer base.  Jarek will help the outside sales and support staff to service our northern customers and will help to ensure that we provide fast and professional service from our Lowell office.

To service our friends in our new Western Territory (See Q-news Volume 1 June 2004), Q-mation has added two new sales professionals.  Greg Gutmann came aboard in July to help provide assistance to our customers in Western, PA Greg brings to Q-mation over 21 years of experience in the industrial market with over 14 years of selling software and supplies to manufacturing organizations throughout Western Pennsylvania.  With a background in Computer Science and a strong industry knowledge, Greg will be able to work with our Western, PA customer base to help specify software and computer systems to that will meet the demands of today's manufacturing market.

To help cover the new Ohio territory, Q-mation has hired Austin Kelly as of the beginning of November.  Austin brings to Q-mation over 11 years of experience in the industrial market with over 3 years of previous experience selling Wonderware products throughout the Cleveland area while working with another software distributor.  With a background in Electrical Engineering and a strong industry knowledge, Austin will be able to work with our Ohio based customers to help specify software and computer systems and to introduce our customers to some of the new products that have been developed by Wonderware.

If a company's success can be measured by the number and quality of people that it hires,

Q-mation has had a banner year.  We hope that the addition of these new staff members will serve to provide an even greater level of assistance to our customers and allow Q-mation to again raise the bar on the level of services that our customers have come to expect from our organization.

Meet and Greet, WonderWorlds and WonderUpdate Events

To help keep our customers informed of the latest offerings available, Q-mation began a new initiative in 2004 to bring formal product updates to our customers via local Wonderware oriented events.  For years, Wonderware has sponsored regional events to serve this purpose but with all of the new technology that will be implemented over the next several years as a result of the ArchestrA architecture and the Industrial Application Server, Q-mation decided it was time to start bringing the event to our customers.  With that in mind, Q-mation held local events all over our territory in an effort to introduce our staff, update our customers and provide hands on demonstrations of the technology that is beginning to revolutionize the marketplace.

The first of these events were the Cleveland, Ohio and Pittsburg, PA meet and greet events.  In an effort to introduce our new customers to Q-mation and to update them on the latest technology offerings from Wonderware, Q-mation and Wonderware held these events in heart of our new territory.  Having had limited support prior to Q-mation taking over the territory, it was imperative that Q-mation solidify itself as an organization that our new customers could count on for the help and support that was deserved.  The start of this initiative was to introduce our company and support staff to the Western territory and to begin to forge unbreakable relationships.  The Meet and Greet events were a tremendous success and served to allow Q-mation to meet face to face with our new important customer base.  We look forward to continuing this relationship and to coming out and providing these kinds of events in the coming years.

In an effort to make our New England and New York customers aware of the benefits or ArchestrA and the Industrial Application Server, the new Wonderware Panels and Tablets and InTouch 9.0, Q-mation and Wonderware arranged the New England WonderWorld events in Rochester, New York and Worcester, MA in June of 2004 (See Q-news Volume 2 August 2004).  The response was tremendous as hundreds of customers attended these first time events to hear presentations from Q-mation technical representatives and Wonderware executives detailing the benefits of Wonderware’s Industrial Application Server.  The success of these events insures their continuation in coming years.

Q-mation concluded this year's event schedule by hosting our WonderUpdates in November. Traveling to York, PA, King of Prussia, PA and Parsippany, NJ, Q-mation and Wonderware provided our customers with the opportunity to see the Industrial Application Server Version 2.0 first hand.  Over two hundred customers attended these events and came away with unanimous praise for this new offering from Wonderware (See Q-news Volume 4 December 2004).  Customers left trying to schedule in-house presentations of IAS so that they could better determine the various ways that IAS could benefit their own organizations.

We hope you had a chance to attend these events and more importantly, we hope that we have a chance to see in the future as we continue this new tradition of bringing our offerings on the road to a location near you.  See you in 2005.

Informer and Webinars

With a focus on providing as much information as possible to our customers, Q-mation began providing company newsletters and bi-monthly Webinars.  Our Informer newsletter is meant to update our customers with new Q-mation news, new product news, upcoming events and product usage tips in an effort to help keep everyone aware of what is happening surrounding those products that are used everyday by many of our customers.  This effort is augmented with our new free Webinar Service that is provided every other Wednesday at 2PM.  Customers that are interested can easily join and see a product based presentation from the comfort of their desk.  As we move forward into 2005, we hope to expand these offerings to provide the best information possible.  We hope that you find these new initiatives useful and informative and we look forward to hearing your feedback.
