2004 Fall WonderUpdate Series - A Complete Success

Early November saw the conclusion of Q-mation's fall WonderUpdate Series and the customer response was overwhelming.  The introduction of Industrial Application Server (IAS) by Wonderware promises to revolutionize the way companies gather and distribute plant information and is an event that Q-mation felt had to be celebrated with a series of road shows that brought the power of IAS to our customers. As we did earlier in the year in New England and New York, Q-mation traveled to our customers (York, PA - King of Prussia, PA - Parsippany, NJ) for a 3-day series that was meant to quickly introduce the power of Application Server to Q-mation customers in the Tri-State area.  The result was a series of events that was attended by over two hundred customers and that generated amazing positive feedback with most customers wanting additional demonstrations and information.

Participants of this event had a chance to hear Keynote Speaker Rashesh Mody, Wonderware's CTO and Vice President of Product Definition, detail the revolutionary technology behind the ArchestrAŽ industrial software architecture and product roadmap for the FactorySuite A2™ product line.  This presentation showed the evolution of the entire FactorySuite over the next several years and detailed how the ArchestrA platform will enable users to develop and deploy complete Plant Intelligence Solutions (SCADA, Process Historian, Downtime Tracking, Advanced Alarming, Web Based Reporting, Batch Management and Resource Tracking) from a centralized engineering environment.  Users will then be able to extend this system to include connectivity to enterprise level business systems (Wonderware Announces New Enterprise Application Integration Using ArchestrA Technology & ISA S95 XML Standards Wonderware Announces First Business-to-Manufacturing System Collaboration Using SAP NetWeaver Product) thus closing the loop between manufacturing and business planning and tracking.  Attendees understood that this presentation was not just vision but reality as Wonderware has now successfully deployed over 300 IAS installations (many with multiple installations per customer) with amazing success.

The culmination of this event was a live demonstration of the power of the Industrial Application Server.  Users got a chance to see how multiple developers could build and deploy complete manufacturing cells in minutes from a centralized environment.  By taking attendees through the process of adding a manufacturing line to an existing plant, Q-mation was able to show the ease and power with which customers can now create and maintain a plant-wide manufacturing intelligence system from a centralized environment.  This demonstration left no doubt with attendees as to the power of IAS.

The almost unanimous response from attendees was the acknowledgement that IAS and ArchestrA were unlike any other product and platform on the market.  Customers left trying to schedule in-house presentations of IAS so that they could better determine the various ways that IAS could benefit their own organizations. If you did not have a chance to attend, please do not hesitate to contact your local Q-mation sales engineer.  We would be happy to show you the power of Industrial Application Server at your convenience.  We are sure you too will feel the experience will be worth your time.
